This companion urn has a base of figured Cherry with a top of Curly Cherry. Lacewood and Bubinga bands and Bubinga dowels provide the accents on the top. No stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

Interior and exterior are finished with Danish Oil, a penetrating resin. Exterior is further finished with a three-stage wax process, the final stage being carnuba.  The resultant finish is smooth, durable, and appealing.

Overall exterior dimensions are about 13.7" x 10.5" x 4.4" (34.8 x 26.7 x 11.2 cm).

Internal dimensions are about 11.9" x 9" x 3.6" (30.2 x 22.9 x 9.1 cm).

Internal capacity is 385 cubic inches ( 6.3 L).

Access is from bottom which is secured with twelve screws.

Exterior:

Mitred corners reinforced with Bubinga keys.

Sides are solid 3/4" (13mm) thick Cherry.

Top is made from solid 3/8" (9.5mm) thick laminated bands of Curly Cherry, Lacewood and Bubinga. Bubinga dowels are used to create the designs in the corners.
