Roasted Birdseye Maple With Lacewood & Bubinga Accents

This jewelry box has ample space for earrings, cuff links, necklaces, watches.

Bands of Cherry, Bubinga and Lacewood, separated and defined by Padauk veneer, provide the accent on the top.

The tray sides and dividers in the interior are solid Cherry. 

No stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.



Overall exterior dimensions are about 12.1" x 9.1" x 3.8" (30.8 x 23.2 x 9.5 cm)

The interior lower level is about 1.1" (2.9 cm) deep with these compartments:-
~ one about 6.9" x 4.9"   (17.6 x 12.5 cm)
~ six  about 2.4" x 2.2"  (6.0 x 5.6 cm)

The removable trays are about 0.9" (2.2 cm) deep configured as follows:-
~  one tray has two compartments about 2.3" x 6.8"  (5.7 x 17.1 cm)
~  one tray has six compartments about 2.3" x 2.2"  (5.7 x 5.6 cm)


Interior and exterior are finished with Danish Oil, a penetrating resin. Exterior is further finished with a three-stage wax process, the final stage being carnauba.  The resultant finish is smooth, durable, and appealing.

Woods Used:

Roasted Bird's Eye Maple, Lacewood, Bubinga, Cherry, Padauk


Mitred corners reinforced with Bubinga keys.

Sides are solid 1/2" (13mm) thick Roasted Bird's Eye Maple

Top is made from solid woods into an assembly about 1/2" (13 mm) thick. It is then re-sawn into two pieces about 1/8" (3mm) thick which are laminated to both sides of 1/4" (6 mm) plywood. This construction not only makes the interior of the top as attractive as the exterior, but also prevents warping of the top.



Solid brass quadrant hinges.

Tray sides and dividers are Cherry.

Interior is  lined with a luxurious faux suede.
