The top was made from Black Walnut with accent bands of Cardinalwood, Santos Rosewood and Curly Maple, delineated by Maple and black veneer strips.

The tray sides and dividers in the interior are made from solid Black Walnut

Other than the black veneer, no stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

Overall exterior dimensions are about 9" x 7" x 4"  (22.9 x 17.8 x 10.2 cm)

Finish:

Interior and exterior are finished with Danish Oil, a penetrating resin. Exterior is further finished with a three-stage wax process, the final stage being carnuba.  The resultant finish is smooth, durable, and appealing.
