The interior of this beautiful jewelry chest has ample space for earrings, cuff links, necklaces, bracelets and watches. The drawer has ten handmade padded inserts, each of which can accommodate two rings, earrings, or cuff links. The upper level has six handmade pillows for watches or bracelets.

This chest was made from Dark Roasted Curly Maple, a premium hardwood from North America. The roasting process darkens the wood to a beautiful rich chocolatey brown color whilst still showing the gorgeous grain and figure of the underlying wood.

The top is 3 mm clear glass, framed by bands of Dark Roasted Curly Maple, each separated and defined by strips of Black Walnut veneer.

No stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

Finish:

Interior and exterior are finished with an Osmo micro-porous wood oil.  The resultant low-lustre finish is smooth, durable, and appealing. Trays, dividers and supports are finished with Danish Oil, a penetrating resin.

Corner posts are Dark Roasted Curly Maple, with Black Walnut veneer where they join the sides of the box.

Sides are solid 1/2" (13 mm) thick Dark Roasted Curly Maple

The centre of the top is 3 mm clear glass, framed by bands of 1/2" (1.3 cm) Dark Roasted Curly Maple, each separated and defined by strips of Black Walnut veneer.

 

Interior:

The 3mm clear glass is secured with glued and screwed strips of Dark Roasted Curly Maple.

Nickel plated brass quadrant hinges.

Drawer sides, trays and dividers are solid Black Walnut

Interior is lined with luxurious velveteen woven fabric. The handmade padded inserts and handmade pillows are covered in the same material.
