These were made to showcase works by Canadian artist, Frank Rodick, titled I live there now
For each of the three pictures in this series three very thin (1.5") cases were made: one Ziricote, one Indian Rosewood and one Bubinga. The centre panels on the tops and bottoms of the cases were made flush to the sides of the case. A v-groove where the centre panels meet the sides provided a subtle accent.
The tops of the interiors were lined with black suede-cloth. Frank's works, which had been face-mounted to 1/8" Plexiglas, were secured in place with thin strips of matching wood.
When opened, the case lays perfectly flat, making for a dramatic presentation.
