The interior of this beautiful jewelry box has ample space for earrings, cuff links, necklaces, bracelets and watches. The one tray has eight padded inserts, each of which can accommodate two rings, earrings, or cuff links.

This box is made from Purpleheart, a premium hardwood native to Central and South America. It is a dense and durable hardwood known for its striking purple coloration, which darkens to a deeper violet-brown over time. The centre of the top is framed by bands of Purpleheart, separated and defined by strips of Maple veneer. The box "floats" on a recessed base of Purpleheart.

No stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

Overall exterior dimensions are about 11.9" x 8.4" x 5.0 "  (29.9 x 21.3 x 12.7 cm)

There is about 0.4" (1.0 cm) headroom in the inside of the top of the box into which jewelry can extend from the trays.

Finish:

Interior and exterior are finished with an Osmo micro-porous wood oil. The resultant low-lustre finish is smooth, durable, and appealing. Trays, dividers and supports are finished with Danish Oil, a penetrating resin.

Exterior:

	The sides of the box are made from a single board with waterfall mitre joints. That allows the natural pattern of the wood grain to flow all the way around the box. Grain is matched on three corners. Purpleheart drawer pulls. Mitred corners reinforced with Purpleheart keys. Sides are solid 1/2" (13  mm) thick Purpleheart
Top is made from solid woods into an assembly about 1/2" (13 mm) thick. It is then re-sawn into two pieces about 1/8" (3mm) thick which are laminated to both sides of 1/4" (6 mm) plywood. This construction prevents warping of the top.

 

Interior:

Solid brass quadrant hinges.

Drawer sides, trays and dividers are solid Cherry

Interior is lined with a luxurious velveteen woven fabric. 
Padded inserts are covered in the same material.
