These two boxes were commissioned as gifts for the maid of honour and bridesmaid

They are made from Curly Maple with legs of Black Walnut. Accents on the top are provided by bands of Black Walnut and Curly Maple, separated and defined by black veneer.

Except for black veneer, no stains or dyes have been used. The rich colours that you see are the natural colours of the finished woods.

SPECIFICATIONS

Woods:

Body -  Curly Maple with Black Walnut legs
Top   - Curly Maple with Black Walnut handle. Bands of Black Walnut and Curly Maple, separated and defined by strips of black veneer.

Finish:

Interior and exterior are finished with an Osmo micro-porous wood oil. The resultant low-lustre finish is smooth, durable, and appealing. Trays, dividers and supports are finished with Danish Oil, a penetrating resin.

Dimensions for each box (approximate): 

Overall exterior dimensions are about 9.9" x 7.1" x 3.8"  (25.1 x 18.1 x 9.5 cm)

The compartments in the lower level are about 1" (2.5 cm) deep. The inside dimensions of the compartments are about:-
(one) 5.3" x 4.1"   ( 13.3 x 10.3 cm)
(two) 2.0" x 2.5"   ( 5.1 x 6.4 cm)

The removable tray is about 0.9" (2.2 cm) deep with four compartments:
(one) 2.0" x 2.5" (5.1 x 6.4 cm)
(one) with two rows of padded inserts, each about 1.6" (4.0 cm) wide
(two) 2.0" x 2.5" (5.1 x 6.4 cm)

Exterior:

	Decorative Black Walnut handle on top. Tapered Black Walnut legs. Sides are 3/8 " (9.5  mm) thick Curly Maple. Top is made from Curly Maple about 1/2" (13 mm) thick, with inlaid bands of Black Walnut and Curly Maple.

Interior:

Brass butt hinges.

Lining is a durable brown faux-suede fabric

Tray and dividers are made from Black Walnut
